Tis the Season

At 5 o'clock, me and Jim decided we wanted to go to the Christmas devotional in Salt Lake. It started at 6, we were in Orem and had no tickets. Due to our fashionably late attendance, we had to park clear up by the capital. We hurried as fast as we could and finally made it to the conference center at literally 5:59. I was so worried the whole drive we were gonig to get there too late and not get tickets. I've never been to General Conference or anything so I was pretty excited. We asked a lady where the stand by line was. Of course, across the street. Then she let us know that they had just let the line through and there were no more tickets. So bummed. Then, a man came over and shook Jims hand. Between their hands was TWO tickets. Happiest moment of my life!

Christmas is my favorite time of year. The lights, the snow, the treats, presents, family and friends. Sometimes I get so excited I forget what Christmas is really about. Christmas is a time to remember the Savior and his life. Toinght at the devotional I was reminded of this. Too often we get so caught up in all the craziness of holiday season, the sales, the parties, even the decorations, that we forget what this time of year is for. I am so grateful for the Savior and for the opportunity I had to listen to the first presidency speak. It's going to be a great Christmas!
