Hello World

Im an aunt!
I don't know how I can be so in love with someone I just met. Payson Alyzabeth Johns is the sweetest thing in the world. She is the best baby ever. She let everyone pass her around and snap pictures and she didn't make a peep! She has dark hair and big blue eyes just like me! I can't wait to hold this little thing again!

Daddy's Girl

A father is someone that
holds your hand at the fair
makes sure you do what your mother says
holds back your hair when you are sick
brushes that hair when it is tangled because mother is too busy
lets you eat ice cream for breakfast
but only when mother is away
he walks you down the aisle
and tells you everythings gonna be ok

Everyone always tell me that I look like my mom...until they see me and my dad...TWINS! Sometimes I don't know how to take it when people tell me I look like a grown man, but I think its a compliment! I have the best dad in the whole world. His whole life he has worked so hard to provide for my family and give me and my brothers the best life he. Sometimes I complain about how I don't have this and how I don't have that, everyone has their princess moments. But I really am grateful for everything that I do have. My dad is such an amazing person, I think our personalities are a lot alike, which is probably why we don't get along sometimes. We always have to have the last word,  so our arguments last forever! I am so lucky to have him in my life. I don't know what I would do without him, really though I don't. I mean, who would I call when I get a flat tire, or acccidently back into a pole, not my mom thats for sure, she'd say "call your dad!"
I am also so blesssed that my dad is a worthy priesthood holder. I cant even count how many fathers blessings I have recieved from him. Nothing has brought me closer to my dad than when he lays his hands on my head and says everything I needed to hear. Then, I know everything will be ok. As manly as my dad is,he has a secret love for pedicures and Hannah Montana with him. He complained, be secretly, I know he misses having me there to watch it with him, and I miss it too!
Happy Fathers Day xoxo

Orem Night Parade with PMTS

Another Design Team event
Orem Night Parade

Instead of sitting on a float throwing candy, at Paul Mitchell we run down the sides of the parade spraying hairspray in little boys hair and spiking it. By the end of the parade my fingers were sticking together. But it turned out great! It was a lot more fun than I expected. I was worried about the hairspray thing, I mean, I wouldn't want some crazy girls running up to me spraying hairspray in my hair but, it was a success. Yay! I love PMTS! <3

Mothers & Daughters

Why Daughters Always Need Their Mothers....

A daughter needs a mother.....
...to guide her through the steps of childhood.
...to give her an extra boost in the obstacle course of life.
...who will give her courage to take risks.
...to share secret family recipes.
...so she knows the meaning of unconditional love.
...to show her how even the smallest acts can help change the world.
...to be her rock when times are hard.
...to remind her how sweet life truly is.
...who takes pride in the strength of her family.
...who will give her comfort no matter what kinda of storm she is facing.
...who will remind her to take a jacket-even when shes grown.
...who can soothe her heart with wise words and a gentle touch.
who makes every milestone all the more meaningful.
...who nourishes her body and soul.
...to show her that making the journey is more important than reaching the destination.
...who is happy to share her company regardless of what shes doing.
...to teach her the meaning of sisterhood.
...to bring out the laughter when no one else can.
...to show her where she comes from and who she may become.
...to teach her when to hold on tight and when to let go.
...who will encourage her to let her imagination run wild.
...who will teach her to be streetwise, for the day she must travel alone.
...to help her acquire the knowledge she will need to face the world on her own.
...to teach her the importance of little pampering.
...who is a constant source of support and strength.
...who encourages her to take the first big steps toward her future.
who will show her that theres always time to dance.
...to teach her the importance of tradition
...to be the wisest teacher she'll even have.
...who will never thin she's too old to need her.
...so she knows one person will always handle her heart with care.
...to stand by her on the most important day of her life.
...with whom she can share her secrets and dreams.

Living away from home has made me appreciate how much my mom does. I have to wake myself up in the morning, make my own food, pick my own clothes up off the floor...then wash them...the list goes on and on. It's all those little things that you forget to stop and say thank you for. I can't remember a time when I had to do something on my own. Every dance performance I looked into the audience and there was my cute mom with the video camera in one hand and the picture camera in one hand. Even though I think Im a big girl my mom is still the first person I call when I get hurt. I still hate going to the doctor by myself. I still say "don't leave me" when I have to go the bathroom in a store. Even though i yell and kick and scream at some of the things she says to me or makes me do, I still love her. Im so lucky to have the mom I do. She lost a lot of friends and sacrificed so much for me to have a better life and she's never blamed me for anything. Every day I see more and more of her in me, I used to think it was a bad thing that I was turning into my mom, but I really hope I can be just like her someday.

We just like to have a good time

We are way to much alike

I'm Going There Someday...

For some reason, every fast and testimony meeting everyone is thinking about the same thing. Today, the topic was temples. I have such a strong testimony of the joy temples bring into your life. Just being on the temple grounds brings a feeling of love and happiness. It is such a beautiful, peaceful, and holy place. Temple work is definitely something I could be better at, especially since I live in Utah and there are so many temples just a hope, skip and a jump away! Im always the happiest when Im doing the things I know the Lord wants me to do. I love the gospel and all the blessings it has brought into my life!

Im so grateful for the decision my parents made to be sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. As crazy as my family is, Im so glad that I get to be with them forever and ever!

Live for the Moments you can't put into words...

Life is about trusting our feelings and taking chances, loosing and finding happiness, appreciating the memories and learning from the past.

Going to school 5 days a week for 7 1/2 hours with the same people doing the same thing can get a little monotonous. Some days you dread hearing your name get called to take a client. Yesterday was one of those days. I checked my books that morning and found out I had a cut and a color coming in at 1pm...it was 9am. I had to sit around for 4 hours waiting and waiting, secretly hoping Wendy didn't show up. Well, she showed up, 10 minutes late. Wendy sat in my chair and we talked about what we wanted to do. She's pretty low maintenance so she just wanted something easy. Well, easy for her. She used to have long hair but her 17 year old son cut it off, so, guess who got to fix a bad haircut? Me. Then, her hair was gray. Not just a little gray, straight up salt and pepper, so guess who had to figure out how to cover all that gray up? Me. I had a feeling it was a going to be a long day with Wendy.
The day seemed to be dragging on as I'm applying color in 1/4 inch sections on her entire head. We started to talk and she started opening up. This lady who I was so frustrated with had the most tender heart. She has been a single mom her whole life to 4 children. She always puts others before herself. She had all this gray hair because she has had such a stressful life and taking care of everyone else that she leaves no time for her. She works from home so she hasn't ever had to see people or take care of herself. As a result she ended up letting herself go, gaining about 150 pounds. After talking to one of my instructors, with a similar lifestyle, Wendy broke down and started crying. I once heard that crying is a sign of strength. Wendy is definitely a strong and independent woman. She walked out of the salon with a smile looking beautiful.
After Wendy left I was speechless. It made me realize how much I love my job and how easy it is to change someones life by simply talking to them and giving them a new hairstyle. I truly believe that this was a start of a new life for Wendy. She has always been a low maintenance tom boy but committed to coming in every 4-6 weeks to get her color retouched. Seeing her on the street I never would have guessed what she's been through. Im so glad that I was able to spend a few hours with this amazing woman and really get to know her.I love people and I love what I do. Every story has an end. But in life, every end is a new beginning.
